Internet Addiction

Nowadays, with the development of computer technology, the Internet is becoming more and more popular. You can find computers and the Internet nearly everywhere in our life, from work to study. Even, the Internet is becoming one of the most important parts in our social life. However, some young people, especially some of the students, are too addicted to the net surfing. To this phenomenon, there are several reasons.

Firstly, the Internet provides a lot of convenience and fun. It enables people to shop, make friends, contact relatives, look for jobs, download music and movies, conduct business deals, and freely air their opinions. For its convenience, the Internet has attracted people like magnets. Some people even claim that it is indispensable. To them, life can’t go on without it. Every day millions of people spend hours on end surfing the Internet.

Secondly, the Internet is also a place where people can escape from reality. With the pressure of study and life, many students find it difficult to cope with. They turn to the Internet for comfort and distraction. However, this kind of escape can easily lead to addiction. Some students spend so much time on computer games that they usually fail in exams. Some students who are banned to use computer by their parents even steal trick money from their parents to go to the internet bar. Its dishonest and serious!

In conclusion, Internet addiction is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. To solve this problem, we need to raise awareness of the harm of Internet addiction among young people, strengthen education and guidance, and help them develop healthy Internet habits. Only in this way can we ensure that the Internet serves as a tool for progress and not a source of harm.
